Holiday Baking
Last week we began doing some holiday baking. I have a recipe for dog treats that we usually try and do for all the family pups. This pic is mine and Raegan's first treats we baked for Christmas. We still have some to do this week including more dog treats, more sugar cookies, and a cake to take to Mamaw's Thursday.
Daddy had made the bone cookie-cutter a few years back. He's so talented.

Fun with Photoshop
So I've recently been playing around with Photoshop. There are so many good tutorials out on the web that it's a shame not to try at least some of them. Here's one I did yesterday with a photo of Rae, my favorite subject. It's a pic I had wanted to use for Christmas cards but since it's so close now it seems futile. But I may go ahead and order a few anyway just for family. Look for more projects soon..:)

Two month checkup
Rae had her two month checkup. Here are her stats:
Weight: 10 lbs. 12 oz (Birth weight 6 lbs. 4 oz.)
Height: 22 inches (Birth height 20 inches(More like 19 1/2))
Head: 15 3/4 inches (Birth head 13 inches)
The doctor seemed pleased with how she is doing and said to keep at it what we've been doing.
She got her vaccinations at the appointment also. She cried some but Daddy was there to console her. She fell asleep in the car but still wimpered a little in her sleep and was a little fussy in the afternoon. But other than that no complications. She slept well that night, which I was afraid she would be up with a fever but no fever or other side effects.

Christmas Parade
Raegan went to her first Christmas parade today. She stayed awake for most of it that is saying something. She only got fussy with the Youth Challenge Program's drumline as the parade stalled in front of us. I think they were just getting on her nerves. She also took parade in her first volunteer work helping the Jaycees who put on the parade with traffic. It wasn't very demanding work, but it's never too early to learn the lesson that if you can help out then you should.

Bye Bye Bassinet...
Since our home is a little on the cool side, Raegan has been sleeping in our room in her bassinet, that is until last night. We moved the bassinet out and her crib in. She likes to squirm around when she stirs in her sleep, and I think being in the small bassinet may wake her up sometimes. We want to make sure she gets every minute of sleep we can..:)
She's definitely moving into a new phase with sleep. She'll stir sometimes, cry and after being consoled for 5 minutes will fall right back to sleep. Last night in her sleep her dad heard her laugh and he said it was a big, hearty one. She's smiling a lot more just not when you do something funny. Or I guess whatever you are doing she finds amusing at the time.
More pics soon..computer woes right now.

A touch of Wolverine
No not the animal...well not really. I'm talking about Wolverine of the X-Men and my daughter, and I assume all babies, ability to heal really fast. Rae will scratch herself in the morning and by night it's gone. She's just amazing not only for that reason but so many.
When sleeping she is much more easily startled than ever before. Guess it's time to watch the noise level and what I'm doing. I dropped something and it woke her up. I now see why they say never wake a sleeping baby. It's because they won't fall back to sleep without a lot of TLC..:)

Thanksgiving
OK. This may be a few days after the fact, but I've been having computer issues and my original post was demolished before I could post it.
We did our same Thanksgiving routine this year by spending Thanksgiving day at my folks and then travelling Friday to spend the weekend with Joe's family. This year Joe suggested they hold off on celebrating Thanksgiving until Friday, which everyone thought was a good idea. So we got to eat Thanksgiving twice instead of eating it once and eating leftovers.
Raegan is getting good at this whole travelling thing. Let's hope it stays that way. She slept for most of the ride and wasn't too fussy at any point. She got lots of attention, which she really enjoys. One highlight was her cousin Mallory changing her poopy diaper. It was priceless. My regret is that I didn't have the video camera rolling. Mallory has a 2 1/2 year old boy so it's been a while since she's changed a little ones poopy diaper. Their poop is much different and tends to go everywhere, but she did great.
All in all it was a great first Thanksgiving. Now onto Christmas...
